Ahead of the 2022 Academy Awards, ESSENCE hosted their 15th Essence Black Women in Hollywood Awards Luncheon. The luncheon recognizes the achievements of the industry’s most influential Black women that are helping diversify Hollywood by telling an array of Black stories.
Held at Beverly Wilshire on Thursday (March 24), this year’s honorees included actress/director Nia Long, Oscar-nominated actress Aunjanue Ellis, actress, and Abbott Elementary creator Quinta Brunson, and actress Chanté Adams. Damson Idris hosted the star-studded event while Will Smith and Larenz Tate served as presenters. The luncheon also included a very special performance by Tank.
Serena Williams, Lena Waithe, Storm Reid, Tabitha Brown, Marsai Martin, Niecy Nash, Natasha Rothwell, Robin Thede, Amber Riley, Garcelle Beauvais, Yvette Nicole Brown, Demi Singleton, and more attended the event.
