The Global Spin Awards Press Conference Reveals DJ Honorees (Photos)

The DJ is the most influential aspect to an artist & their live set, so it’s only right that they get a night to be honored.

Last Tuesday at NYC’s Yotel in Midtown, a press conference for the 1st Annual Global Spin Awards took place. The ceremony will be held in NYC on November 19, 2012 at the NY Times Center—honoring DJ’s from all aspects of music.

VIBE was in the building to get a preview of the nominees, which were were announced by Shade 45’s Sway Calloway, DJ Clinton Sparks, Hot 97’s DJ Funkmaster Flex, world renowned DJ Kid Capri, and legendary DJ Marley Marl. Of course someone had to be behind the turntable to spin for the conference, and that task was given to an icon in her own right, DJ Jazzy Joyce.

The panel introduced themselves, talked about how their DJ opportunities came about and then introduce selected nominee categories along with the nominees.
