On a mildly hot night in South Beach, DJ IRIE walked into the Shelbourne Hotel for the inaugural InspIRIE Gala with an illuminating glow that spread like wildfire throughout the crowd of distinguished guests like the Miami Heat’s assistant coach Juwan Howard, Chris Bosh, and “Ballers” star Omar Benson dressed in their Sunday best. IRIE glided across the congested hotel lobby alongside the host of the night’s festivities Jamie Foxx and fueled the fire with their enlightening smiles and pure excitement for the night’s festivities.
“It’s about doing it bigger and better,” IRIE said while on the red carpet. “To ultimately be able to serve more, help more, and touch more people, and make a bigger difference.”
The Miami Heat’s beloved resident DJ switched things up for the 12th annual IRIE Weekend in Miami Beach. With plenty of celebrity guests and support from the Heat’s most revered players and coaches, IRIE held the weekend-long series of exclusive fundraisers backed by the IRIE Foundation while celebrating his birthday at the same damn time. Miami’s most anticipated charity event of the year helped raise money for various causes, including the construction of the Irie Rhythms Music Center.
“At one point, when you mentioned his name in Miami, everyone knows it,” Jamie Foxx said of IRIE’s charitable spirit. “Now if you mention his name anywhere in the world, everyone knows it and not just for what he does entertainment wise. He takes people’s energy and emotions and lifts them up to the sky, but also what he does is charity work. Every time he calls you, you’re already saying yes to him. You always say yes to him because you know he’ll always be willing to do something to help.”

The Heat’s stand-out humanitarian made sure to keep the kids in mind throughout the weekend. Before his annual Celebrity Golf Tournament, IRIE held a golf clinic for the kids hosted by LPGA Golfer Paula Pearson-Tucker. The veteran DJ invited South Florida’s at-risk youth to the Miami Beach Golf Club to learn the game with golf lessons, keynote speakers and exquisite food.
Although charity work was his top priority, IRIE called on his talented rapper friends to keep Miami Beach turnt up with performances throughout the weekend. With Jack Daniels Tennessee Honey cocktails in rotation, trending acts like B.o.B and Mr. “All The Way Up” Fat Joe hit the stage at the IRIE Weekend BBQ Beach Bash presented by Aquafina. IRIE even convinced his long-time friends Dru Hill to reunite for a lit performance at LIV and closed out the weekend on a high note while he took over E11even Nightclub along with T-Pain, B.o.B, and Ace Hood.
