Bodega, the Boston-based streetwear boutique founded by Dan Natola, has teamed up with “internationally known and locally respected” Bay Area idol Larry June.
On the footwear front, the franchise has aligned with the classic sneaker brand New Balance to build a new 574 Legacy collection. Tapping the “Smoothies in 1991” rapper to showcase the two new colorways “Departure” and “Arrival,” Larry sits on the side of a black-on-black Acura NSX eating his symbolic favorite fruit: oranges. In another shot, he wears a gray Bodega New Balance 574 Legacy sweatsuit with his signature “1991” hefty chains complementing the ensemble—he doesn’t do too much.
Both 574 Legacy styles include primary yellow and blue color schemes and stay true to the classic New Balance specific details. The only different element added to the classic shoe is its tongue, which has been replaced by a New Balance globe-embroidered logo for co-branding purposes with Bodega.
Larry June has paved his own lane, his own way, making him the perfect figure to represent the campaign of being “internationally known and locally respected.” On the music tip, he’s recently joined forces with Jay Worthy and LNDN DRGS for their collaborative effort 2 P’z In A Pod following his EP Into The Late Night and LP Orange Print.
The New Balance 574 Legacy collection, geared by Bodega and presented by Larry June, will be available for purchase on July 15 via Bodega.
