Rolling Loud Miami 2022 was something to remember and not just for the onstage debacle involving Kid Cudi and Kanye West. Spotify’s RapCaviar hosted its first Live From… series with some of Hip-Hop’s biggest stars and brought the festival grounds to where the fans were.
Hosted by Brian “B. Dot” Miller, TV personality Amanda Booz, Spotify Creative Director/Head of Urban Music Carl Chery, and fellow hosts DJ Akademiks, Cole Cuchna, and Speedy Morman, Life From… created an immersive experience unlike any other, allowing fans to listen to exclusive interviews through the Spotify app.
Throughout the weekend, artists like King Combs, Curren$y, Shenseea, Flo Milli, Soulja Boy, Toosii, Ka$hdami, Saweetie, Saucy Santana, and more provided a rare behind-the-scenes perspective on what happened at Rolling Loud while filling in listeners on new music and their growth as artists.
Saweetie’s long-awaited debut album, Pretty B***h Music was among the discussed topics. She explained to Chery, “I’m sensitive when it comes to music. When you hear a great body of work, it takes you somewhere. Singles may be great, but I didn’t want my album to sound like a bunch of singles. I want it to feel like a narrative, ensemble, and a masterpiece.” However, she didn’t share an estimated time of arrival or when fans can expect to hear her debut solo album.
