After five years of ear-smashing singles, Duck Sauce, AKA A-Trak and Armand Van Helden releases its debut full-length, Quack. Dynamic, with just the right blend of disco, funk, house, electro, and even doses of hip hop, Quack plays like a meticulously planned DJ set, with not a down moment in sight.
Including almost all of the previously released material, Quack serves as a well-rounded musical history lesson. A-Trak’s and Van Helden’s eclectic tastes and in-depth knowledge of various genres over a number of decades is put to use on Quack. The samples used on Quack—all blatant and placed at the focal point of the tracks on which they appear—bring the original musicians and songs to the present time with Duck Sauce’s ingenious employment.
Although not as versed as A-Trak and Van Helden, here are some of the samples used on Quack we’ve unearthed. – Lily Moayeri >>>>>>>
