With 372 days left until Barack Obama leaves office, the President addressed the American people Tuesday night (January 12)for his final State of The Union Speech.
Appearing calm and collected, Obama didn’t use the hour of primetime television to brag about his administration’s accomplishments, but instead kept his foot on the gas and urged Congress to continue pushing forward.
Speaking on four key issues–the economy, technology, keeping America safe, and creating a bipartisanship in Congress that reflects the best of the nation and not the worst–Obama didn’t mince words in the nearly hour long address by not so subtly responding to his political detractors.
“The United States of America is the most powerful nation on Earth. Period. It’s not even close…If you doubt America’s commitment or mine that justice is done, ask Osama Bin Laden,” he said while speaking on terrorist networks ISIS and Al Qaeda.
Yet, while Obama laid out his agenda for his last lap as Commander In Chief, the Internet couldn’t contain itself and created some of the most hilarious, creative and politically savvy responses.
Check out some of the Internet’s best reactions to POTUS’ final State of The Union.
