
Each year, the American Theatre Wing’s 2016 Tony Awards recognizes achievement in live Broadway theater. This includes those who work on stage and behind the scenes, such as choreographers and directors.
This year’s batch of nominees was exceptionally diverse. We have rounded up all the nominees of color so you are fully informed before Sunday’s show (June 12), set to air at 8 p.m. EST on CBS. Check out who’s who up top.

Lin-Manuel Miranda

Hamilton has been nominated for Best Musical, but Miranda has been nominated for best performance by an actor in a leading role in a musical, best book of a musical and best original score (music and/or lyrics) written for the theater.
