Sunday night’s debate premiered with high anticipation as Donald Trump’s latest controversial comment about being able to grab women by their genitals has landed him in the hot seat. Not only has Mr. Trump’s inappropriate comment alienated few independent voters, this comment caused a mass exodus of his fellow party members jumping ship and rescinding their endorsements. However, voters and pundits alike wondered if his lewd comments about women would have any effect on his debate performance.
It was almost expected for the comments to be addressed, but debate moderators Anderson Cooper and Martha Raddatz jumped right into the controversy within the first ten minutes of the debate, leaving the rest of the debate to the two candidates to discuss the issues important to voters.
