Best Visual Effects: Duck Sauce – “It’s You”
A-Trak and Armand Van Helden a.k.a Duck Sauce dropped this groovy oldie sampled electro-swing track just in time for summer. The comical and creative video takes place in a barber shop as the customers hair styles bounce and dance to the beat. VIBE named it “Video Of The Week,” here.[videoembed size=”full_width” alignment=”center”][/videoembed]

Best Visual Effects: Capital Cities – “Safe and Sound”
Los Angeles band Capital Cities should have already been nominated for something for producing this catchy, electronic-pop summer anthem. The lush instrumentation of the track is complimented extremely well with the old-school, broadway like feel of the video.[videoembed size=”full_width” alignment=”center”][/videoembed]

Best Editing: Calvin Harris – “Sweet Nothing (feat. Florence Welch)”
Calvin took both the EDM and mainstream world by storm with 18 Months, the Scottish DJ’s third studio album. Leading this surge was Calvin’s Florence Welch-assisted “Sweet Nothing.” The video follows the strained relationship of a couple, with flawless editing between scenes.[videoembed size=”full_width” alignment=”center”][/videoembed]

Best Cinematography: A-Trak & Tommy Trash – “Tuna Melt”
Hard work pays off. A-Trak and Tommy Trash’s “Tune Melt” video is a lengthy Rube Goldberg device filled with dominoes, toast, feathers, and other miscellaneous objects. The nomination of best cinematography is crystal clear, someone give this cameraman a raise![videoembed size=”full_width” alignment=”center”][/videoembed]

Best Collaboration: Calvin Harris & Ellie Goulding – “I Need Your Love”
It’s no surprise that superstars Calvin Harris and Ellie Goulding are nominated for this one. Not only was “I Need Your Love,” a huge hit, but the video follows the two ‘lovers’ (and others who find the camera) from the bedroom to the beaches. Get a room guys![videoembed size=”full_width” alignment=”center”][/videoembed]

Best Visual Effects: Flying Lotus – “Tiny Tortures”
Differing from the other upbeat and mainstream nominations, Flying Lotus comes in with an incredible video for “Tiny Tortures” with jaw-dropping special effects. As random household objects float gracefully in the air, they form outlines of body parts and attach to the character for some trippy visuals.[videoembed size=”full_width” alignment=”center”][/videoembed]
