The 2015 WNBA Draft Day has arrived. As the league eyes contenders like University of Minnesota’s Amanda Zahui B., Notre Dame’s Jewell Loyd and UCONN’s Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis for their first-round picks, we strolled down memory lane with 12 current pro-ballers for their Draft Day memories.
Drafted In: 2006 by the Phoenix Mercury
Describe the moment you heard your name called during the WNBA draft: There were rumors about me going one or two so I honestly didn’t know what to expect! I was just really thankful for the opportunity to have my family and close friends present with me! The moment that 2nd draft pick went up with my name on it, I was nervous but truly happy! It’s something I dreamed of doing since the WNBA’s emergence in professional sports!
Draft Day anthem: That’s a tough one so I’ll give you the first songs that comes to mind which probably would be “Bang Bang” by Jessie J or “Blessings” by Big Sean
If you could change one thing about your Draft Day experience, what would it be and why? I wouldn’t change one thing! I enjoyed every moment that day and was excited to move to PHX to play with some great players!
