After T.I. Referred To Marriage As A "Distraction," Tiny Assures Fans That She's Just Fine
T.I. and Tiny's final season of their Family Hustle show might be the last time we see the pair together. Earlier this year, they decided to dissolve their longtime marriage due to unreconcilable differences. In a previous interview with Angie Martinez, T.I. spoke candidly on the separation.
“It seems to me that marriage and what marriage means and what marriage does …it’s just one of those things that’s going to distract me and deter me," he said. "And that could be selfish, but ultimately, I’m the patriarch of this family and it’s my responsibility to take us onward and upward. I just have a purpose and I don’t always have the time to do the thoughtful and considerate things that a husband should do.”
Tameka "Tiny" Harris allegedly weighed in on the word "distraction" by posting an enlightening video message from social media user @jstlbby onto her Instagram account, Bossip reports. Part of her testimony highlighted her belief that "God works in mysterious ways" to help you stay on the right path.
"It's nothing you can hide from God. He knows when we're on a straight and narrow path and he knows when distractions come and we kinda get sidetracked, but he has a way of putting roadblocks to block the distractions to keep us on that straight path," she said.
Amid the reports of a strain in their former marriage, Tip also reassured spectators that all is well in the Harris household.
"There is no beef. We good, we straight. Everyone else got the problem. We see each other, we speak, we talk," he said during his Power 105.1 Q&A. "We spend time together. That's still one of the best friends I have in the world. I can just be a better best friend than a husband."
