Known for his thorough “Trap Lord” bars and jiggy fashion sense, it was only a matter of time that A$AP Ferg made a grand foray into the realm of style.
Ferg and his A$AP crew have got the high-end streetwear game on lock, introducing the masses to the impeccable tastes of Maison Martin Margiela, Raf Simons and more. Basically, for the past few years they’ve been the go-to guys when it comes to style in rap game, setting trends absolutely no one saw coming.
Suitably, out-of-the box menswear fashion designer, Astrid Andersen noted that Ferg, as well as Missy Elliott, were the inspiration behind her SS16 collection. Paying “homage to men who dare to dress bravely and have a point of view,” the collection boasts of flamboyant casual wear with heavy influences of all-American sportswear garbs,
“Ferg has been the ultimate muse for me this season,” Andersen told High Snobiety. “He has been for a number of years now, and we both have a reverence for Missy Elliot. We think she is like, the god, so that’s a common reference for us that I really wanted to show through the soundtrack.”

Both Ferg and Andersen have work together before, with the A$AP member getting his model game on in the campaign flicks of her recent Topman collab. The pair also curated a short film with Red Bull Catwalk Studios dubbed, Water, an ode to the world of martial arts mixed with her exuberant designs. Check out the video here.
