FILA is back with another food inspired sneaker, and this time, they collaborated with popular Brooklyn boutique, Alumni. Inspiration for the Jamaican beef-patty colored kicks was drawn from the deep-rooted influence of the West-Indian culture of Crown Heights and Flatbush — the shop calls home.
The overpass silhouette is dressed in a yellow illumination with suede material running around the outer sole. While the toe box is indented to mimic the the border of the crust. The sole represents the bread used to bake the Jamaican culture staple. Inside the sneaker you find a brown inner with the two brands name in white.
The food inspired kicks will be released this Saturday (July 9) at the Alumni store in Brooklyn (298 Utica Avenue, Brooklyn 11213) at 12 P.M. — ass well as online at alumniofny.com. Retail price is $100.
The store will also be hosting a release party on release day. “With this collaboration, our mission was to capture the spirit of the neighborhoods we call home by sharing a treat we eat too often,” Alumni’s Jaeki Cho says.
