They say imitation is the highest form of flattery, and if that’s true, it appears as if Forever 21 is going for the gold.
After Kanye West earned close to 1 million in sales during his New York pop up shop this past March in support of his latest LP The Life of Pablo, Forever21 will premiere similarly styled shirts that include the classic TLOP Old English font formatted almost exactly the same as the original merchandise Kanye and his team developed. The only major difference is instead of displaying Kanye’s lyrics, the Forever 21 shirt’s have “Simon De Cyrene For the World” written out, which is apparently a reference to a Los Angeles brand called sdc by Simon de Cyrene.
Forever21 isn’t the first store to sell Yeezy knockoff clothing. H&M along with other fashion retailers have been caught in the past selling cheaper versions of high fashion brands.
Think Mr. West will go on one of his epic rants about this on his tour?
