Grace Jones will now and forever be a fashion icon, and she showed that she can still keep up during her appearance at Paris Fashion Week over the weekend.
The model, 70, walked in Tommy Hilfiger’s show at the Champs-Elysées Theatre, which showcased his Fall/Winter 2019/2020 collection. The collection itself is a collaboration with actress and singer, Zendaya.
The Jamaica native reportedly closed the show. She strutted her stuff in a metallic printed blazer, gold leotard and knee-high boots to uproarious applause. When she hit the top of the runway, she danced, shook her hair and posed like the pro she is. Mashable reports that her look was inspired by the ’70s and ’80s fashion eras, both of which are time periods where Jones found great success as a supermodel, musician and actress.
“We’re paying homage to these women who changed our legacy…and allowed for me and so many others to be here,” Zendaya told WWD about the inspiration behind the line and the fashion show. The former Disney star posted a photo of Jones walking the runway with the simple caption “….speechless.”
“Just a reminder that grace jones is 70 yo,” a Twitter user wrote in response to Jones’ runway video. “SEVENTY years old and no one is doing it like her. forever an ICON.”
