Virgil Abloh is lending his talents to the spirits world by designing a special bottle for Moët’s iconic Nectar Imperial Rose.
The limited-edition collection marks the Abloh’s first-ever liquor brand collaboration. Teased last week to fans, the champagne will be in a clear glass bottle with a white ‘x’ design in the heart of it with all-white wrapper covered on the upper half with its classic gold-labeled “MOËT” title.
Each bottle bears the designer’s signature “DO NOT DROP” styling while showcasing the champagne’s prominence as a collectors-edition designation.
The large 750 mL bottle will retail for $60. The line of bottles will be available for purchase at local retailers on Oct. 1 in New York, Miami, L.A., Atlanta, and Chicago followed by a nationwide release via Clos19.com throughout the upcoming holidays.
Abloh launched his career in fashion and entertainment in 2003, meeting Kanye West not too long after his graduation from college. He would go on to be Ye’s creative director for both his album artwork (808’s & Heartbreak, Watch the Throne, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy) and set designs.
The following years, he continued to add more hip-hop heavyweight as clients for his creative vision including A$AP Rocky, Pusha T, John Legend and Lil Wayne.
Watch the beginning of Nicki Minaj and Beyoncé’s 2015 video for their hit single “Feeling Myself” where they are standing under the “Coachella City Limit” sign, and you’ll see Queen B wearing one of Abloh’s pieces.

2018 has already been a year of blessings for the first-generation Ghanaian-American trendsetter. He became the artistic director of Louis Vuitton, launched his own Beats 1 radio show on Apple Music and was part of Bey’s team for her September cover with Vogue.
