The BYEST of Felicia’s!
App developers Allison McGuire and Daniel Herrington have created SketchFactor. Crain’s reports. the app, which is set to launch Friday, Aug. 8, is the brainchild of McGuire from her days working at a non-profit organization in Washington, D.C. Something tells me she wasn’t feeling all the chocolate in the Chocolate City.
Anyway, the app will crowd source user’s experiences as well as publicly use available data to showcase potential “sketchy” areas. For those unaware, the term “sketchy” is often used by those of the Caucasian persuasion to describe predominantly black or brown neighborhoods. This app will help keep anyone away from a “sketchy’ neighborhood until those who fear the “sketchy’ neighborhood decide to move in, gentrify and build a Whole Foods in said “sketchy” neighborhood.
Don’t believe me? Obviously you haven’t been to Brooklyn.
