Latto hit the main stage of the 2022 BET Awards, shrouded in a smokey haze, to perform her 777 single, “Its Givin.” Dressed in a black and silver body suit, the rapper grooved alongside her dancers while spitting her braggadocious verse. After her live rendition of the song, the vibe shifted with the help of YDB, the son of the late Ol’Dirty Bastard. Reciting his father’s iconic intro to Mariah Carey’s “Fantasy,” YDB provided a seamless transition into Latto’s next performance of “Big Energy.”
Latto delivered a seemingly effortless iteration of “Big Energy” as she flowed through her sexy verse, capturing the essence of the playful track. As the rapper finished her verse, viewers were met with the surprising arrival of the legend Mariah Carey appearing in place of a fleeting kaleidoscope. The songstress sang the “Big Energy” chorus before a shimmery magenta background as the duo received a standing ovation for their performance.
