More than a year after his ceremonious release from prison, Bobby Shmurda has released his long-awaited comeback project, titled Bodboy. His first full-length release since 2014’s Shmurda She Wrote, which was released before his six-year prison sentence, Bodboy arrived on the heels of numerous singles released since his return in 2021, including “Shmoney,” “Getting Em Back,” “They Don’t Know,” and other one-offs.
Powered by its lead single, “Hoochie Daddy,” Bodboy runs nine tracks long and finds Shmurda displaying no signs of rust, as he sounds as seasoned behind the mic as he’s ever been. Boasting guest appearances from GS9 signee Fat Tony and longtime collaborator Rowdy Rebel, Bodboy is an impressive offering from Shmurda and proves he and his music is worthy of the hype beyond the street cred.
After listening to Shmurda’s latest release, VIBE highlights five songs from Bodboy that piqued our interest and deserve your attention.
