Like most Fridays this quarter, the wave of new music overtakes the Internet, but within that rush of fresh melodies lies a couple of tracks that’s worth pressing play. At midnight (Nov. 16), 2 Chainz joined that march of new music by dropping two records under the name Hot Wings Are A Girl’s Best Friend.
The tracks are split in two (“Hot Wings,” “Girl’s Best Friend”) and are herald as this year’s top tracks, said by Tity Boi himself. “These two songs harder than most of the sh*t I been hearing this year no cap,” the Atlanta native wrote on Instagram.
While “Hot Wings” (produced by Hit-Boy) caters to the “Spend It” rapper’s longtime fans, “Girl’s Best Friend” (produced by Cardo Got Wings) is simply geared toward the women, backed by Ty Dolla $ign’s in-demand vocals.
In February, 2 Chainz shared plans to release an album titled Rap Or Go To The League. He prefaced the announcement with a premise of the project’s contents, sharing, “With the height of racial tensions in America, felt I should do my part in explaining some of the brainwashing formulas used in my community, this next album not only touches on those who did succeed thru entertainment but those who didn’t!”
