In case you were wondering, 50 Cent is far from broke. The G-Unit general’s finances were the talk of the Web on Monday (July 14) after the rapper/mogul filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy. But it seems he is taking all the whispers in stride.
In true 50 fashion, he took to Instagram to make light of the situation as he posed next to a smart car for good measure.
“Times are hard out here LMAO,” wrote Fif, standing suited and booted in a parking lot.

In a statement released by his legal team, the bankruptcy allows 50 to “reorganize his financial affairs,” and that he will continue conducting business normally. As for what chapter 11 bankruptcy means for Fif exactly, it is simply a protective measure of his assets, according to comments he made at a Los Angeles press junket for his upcoming film Southpaw.
“It’s for protection, so I’m not taken advantage of,” he told HipHopDX. “I’m fine. You don’t see me smiling?”
Yes, Mr. Cent. We see you.
Southpaw hits theaters July 24.
