On Monday night (Aug. 3), while Meek Mill was becoming the first contestant on Drake’s OVO Fest screen, the Internet continued to be in a frenzy over their rap beef. One comparison the masses have made to their feud is that of 50 Cent and Ja Rule, stemming back to as early as the year 2000. Amid the chatter, both rappers weighed in on the similarities (or lack thereof, according to Rule).
50 Cent chimed in with a joke about Drake “watching him close,” noting the Toronto rappers ruthlessness while on stage performing in front of a slew of Meek Mill memes. He also made a quip about Meek’s dropping a follow-up to his poorly-received “Wanna Know” Drake diss:

Ja Rule on the other hand, didn’t point out any resemblance to the two rap feuds, noting that he and 50’s beef got a little bloody (50 was stabbed by a Murder Inc. associate)
