The people waited long enough for Jeremih’s delayed album, Late Nights. But now that it’s out – concluding the five-year suspense for its release – many are having a lot more to say than just commentary on the album’s content. 50 Cent in particular, is expressing his distaste with the album’s rollout process. And he’s pointing fingers at Jeremih’s label, Def Jam for the epic fail.
Following chopping it up with the Chicago singer at Club Lust, 50 took to Instagram to share his thoughts, “What Def Jam has done to Jeremih is foul.” At first it may have seemed like what has been a consistent trend for the rapper of ranting about various subjects, but 50 may have a point with this one.
His problem is that Jeremih’s album is running for $18.99, which he claims he hasn’t seen in five years. However, Kendrick Lamar’s album, To Pimp A Butterfly and Jeezy’s Church in These Streets are also currently running for $18.99. But in contrast, other competing artists in R&B are pricing their albums at a lower price, which is most definitely going to be a set back for Jeremih. Chris Brown’s upcoming album Royalty, Justin Bieber’s Purpose, and Trey Songz’s album are all running for $13.99 and under.
Nevertheless, Late Nights is out and fans are happy. As for whether the album is worth $18.99, you’ll have to decide that on your own. Check out 50 Cent’s defense of Jeermih on Instagram below.
