50 Cent loves himself some drama. The rapper is recently getting involved in the feud between Steve Madden and Nicki Minaj, after the popular fashion brand claimed that it never offered an exclusive deal to the female artist back in the day.
If you’re not caught up with all the happenings, it all started when Cardi B released a video on Instagram late Monday night (Oct. 29), claiming that Nicki’s latest partnership with Diesel only came after the Bronx native turned it down. To combat those allegations, Nicki then claimed she did the same thing when Steve Madden offered her a deal, which opened the door for the brand’s partnership with Cardi. But Steve Madden suggested that was a lie, tweeting: “You can’t turn down an offer that was never made. #StopLying.”
Luckily, VIBE alum Adelle Platon had the receipts, and posted her 2015 interview with Steve Madden in which he spoke exclusively about his previous deal with Nicki. “I was gonna do a collaboration with Nicki Minaj and we got into a fight the first minute we met,” he told VIBE. “And then we patched it up. We were cool. We text each other, we became sort of buddies. We were thinking of doing something, and I would’ve, but I was with Iggy and I thought, ‘Coke and Pepsi.’ It was a mistake. I made a mistake and I wish that I could go back in time and work with Nicki instead of Iggy.”
50 was quick to support Nicki, stating in a post on Instagram: “I guess he forgot he spoke on this already. Smh. Liar.”
It doesn’t stop there. Nicki also responded to the reports on Twitter. “Thought I was lying you dumb f**k. You, Irv & Gee Roberson came to my house in MALIBU BEGGING me to do the deal. I said no,” she tweeted. “You then did a deal w/Iggy & she hated the pics you used & went in on you online. Im sure Irv told you to post this lie. Respond to @50cent.”
