50 Cent is standing in support of Troy Ave amid the Irving Plaza shooting. The rapper posted on Instagram, suggesting the fatal shooting, that has left one dead was not entirely the rapper’s fault.
The Power executive posted the image of the rapper exiting the hospital in a wheel chair, pointing out the faults in the justice system in a short message. “Self defense thats more like it now. Hold ya head Troy. See how the story change,” he captioned. Troy Ave, who was wounded during the incident, has pleaded not guilty to attempted murder charges.
It may be difficult for some to see self defense in this case, especially after video footage of The Major Without A Deal rapper opened fire into a second-floor green room surfaced. However, the latest statement from the rapper’s legal team, suggests Ave, real name Roland Collins, was the “real victim.
“Troy Ave’s bodyguard, Ronald McPhatter died after the shooting. “[Troy’s] longtime friend and bodyguard died trying to protect him. As my co-counsel, John Stella, said in court, Troy has no criminal record and he is not a gangsta rapper,” lawyer, Scott Leemon said. Troy Ave’s bodyguard, Ronald McPhatter died following the shooting.
In addition to charging Troy, the NYPD is reportedly investigating another suspect in the fatal shooting.
