Upon its arrival (Sept. 14), 6lack’s East Atlanta Love Letter generated a lot of praise for the Baltimore-born artist. Following the official video release for the album’s title track, 6lack delivered his first performance of an emotional song on the project. The Interscope recording artist performed the stirring melody on the set of “A Colors Show,” a popular Youtube series that highlights the natural talents of artists living in the digital age of music.
Out of all the songs on this 14-track LP, the Free 6lack creator chose “Disconnect,” a piano-heavy ballad about the difficulty of love.
The 26-year-old singer/rapper appears inside a dark bluish grey set in an empty room, where his only company is a dangling microphone. In this rendition of “Disconnect,” the track relies heavily on the melancholy sounds of the piano with a light assistance from the bass. The “PRBLMS” rapper’s vocals also shine far beyond expectation.
To further the good vibes, according to Billboard, East Atlanta Love Letter will debut on the Billboard Hot 200 chart, pushing an incredible 77,000 units. This will be 6lack’s first album to break into the top 10.
