A Tribe Called Quest jumped back in the game with their new album, We Got It From Here… Thank You 4 Your Service, and with a little less then a week of circulation, the album is already doing damage on the charts. According to Billboard, the Tribe’s latest project is on track to reach the No.1 spot, making it the group’s first No. 1 in 20 years.
Got It From Here will reportedly debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 charts by the end of this week (Nov. 18), with the equivalent of 120,000 album units sold, according to Billboard. The group hasn’t reached that status since the release of their 1996 album Beats, Rhymes, and Life, which also debut at No.1 on the charts.
The album serves as a final farewell to the late Phife Dawg and while it does a flawless job of staying true to the hip-hop group’s legendary style, it also blends contemporary and fresh voices including Anderson .Paak, Kendrick Lamar, Kanye West, and Andre 3000.
Earlier in the month, the group hit the stage on Saturday Night Live, where they played a set of old and new hits. Keep watching A Tribe Calle Quest as they go for the top spot, and listen to their latest album below.
