TDE CEO Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith says Ab-Soul is delaying the release of his DWTW album. In July 2015, the Carson, Calif. native tweeted that his album was “almost done.” A year later, he revealed that the album had been turned in for mixing.
Ab followed up the album update with a single titled “Braille” last week. However, Top Dawg says Ab and TDE’s resident mixing engineer, Derek “Mixed By Ali” Ali, are causing the album delay.
“@abdashsoul & @MixedByAli holding up his album,” the TDE boss tweeted in reply to a fan. “I’m done takin the blame… they need 2 get da mixes right.. that’s the hold up. Get at them.”
In another tweet, Tiffith demanded that Ab and Ali turn the album in as soon as possible.
“Now I’m about 2 put my foot down. Have it done when I get back.”
Ab hasn’t responded to his boss yet, and he might not have to — if the album drops soon.
In the meantime, read Top Dawg’s tweets below.
