TDE continues to push conscious hip-hop forward with all of their artists, and Ab-Soul looks to be up next.
Back in September, Soulo released a new single, “Huey Knew.” Today (Oct. 14), the Carson, Calif, native released the song’s visuals. Directed by aplus, Soul sits in a wicker chair while brandishing a shotgun–similar to the iconic image of Black Panther Party founder, Huey P. Newton.
We also see black-and-white clip imagines of Donald Trump, police brutality as well as imagines of BPP members flash across the screen. This summer Soulo announced that his DWTW album was done, so maybe “Huey Knew” is a sign that the album is on the way.
