This is what happens when you mix rapology with Ivy League education!
The celebrated musician was announced Tuesday by the Ivy League school’s music department in conjunction with Cornell University Library’s Hip-Hop Collection. The South Bronx, New York native will visit Cornell’s upstate New York campus several days each year to talk to classes, meet with student and community groups, and perform the music within a culture he helped to create and expand.
Bambaataa’s first trip to Cornell will be in November.
Cornell celebrates having the largest national archive on Hip-Hop culture, documenting its birth and growth by preserving thousands of recordings, fliers, photographs and other artifacts. It makes us want to re-enroll into university, so that we can learn premium jewels from one of the Masters of Ceremonies.
