Several big names are attached to the album’s credits. Among its producers are Dr. Dre and Keys’ own husband Swizz Beatz on the track “New Day,” indie rocker Jamie xx on “When It’s All Over,” and Babyface on “That’s When I Knew,” to name a few. Keys enlisted songwriters Emeli Sandé for the tracks “Brand New Me” and “Not Even the King,” while Bruno Mars and his Smeezingtons songwriting and production team helped out on “Tears Always Win.” When it comes to vocals, Keys gets a little help from Nicki Minaj on the “Girl on Fire (Inferno Version),” and duets with Maxwell on “Fire We Make,” which also features guitarist Gary Clark Jr. But, all guests aside, there is a whole lot of Alicia Keys and her piano on Girl on Fire.
Begin the Girl on Fire adventure below with the instrumental opener “De Novo Adagio,” which translates from Italian to “a slow start.” (Don’t worry, things pick up.) Girl on Fire is currently available on iTunes for pre-order.
