Alicia Keys took a whack at Desiigner’s “Timmy Turner” on the piano and didn’t disappoint. The R&B songstress covered the much-hyped track in a soothing ballad she shared on Instagram on Friday (Sept. 16).
The “In Common” singer put a little twist on the single — which spun out of the rapper’s XXL Freshman freestyle — by altering the name in honor of the iconic recording artist, Tina Turner. In the short clip, Keys put her fingers to work on the piano, as she showcased her wispy vocals and au naturel look.
In regards to the real Desiigner, the Brooklyn-bred rapper recently dodged a bullet in court. After the “Panda” artist was arrested for allegedly carrying illegal drugs and firearms in his vehicle, a district attorney overseeing the case, dropped all charges. The attorney cited no evidence of illegal possession as the reason.
