Alicia Keys is returning to the music scene full steam ahead with her recent announcement. Taking to Instagram to share the good news with her fans, the Harlemite revealed that her sixth studio album, titled HERE, will debut on Nov. 4.
“My most raw and honest creation yet!” the “Diary” singer wrote on the social media site. Given her makeup free movement, it’ll be interesting to hear what A. Keys will be open and honest about in her new body of work.
“On this album, I’ve arrived HERE,” she said in a press release. “A place where I’m willing to truthfully look at myself in the mirror and to also see the reality of who we have become in this world. The good, the ugly, the shadows and the light. I’ve come to realize that in order for us to grow and to understand and accept each other we have to recognize the complexity of ourselves. We have to be able to talk about it and meet each other where we are, HERE.”
Her husband and famed producer, Swizz Beatz, will serve as executive producer of Keys’ forthcoming project. The pair previously worked on Keys’ 2009 tracks, “Wait Til You See My Smile” and “Put It in a Love Song” which were listed on her Element of Freedom album, and more recently, her 2012 song, “New Day,” which was featured on her Girl on Fire album.
