Aminé may not have many singles out, but he’s been making quite a bit of noise in the industry. Following the audio release of his single, “Red Mercedes,” the Portland-bred rapper teased a clip of the upcoming music video on Wednesday (Apr. 5).
The 40-second trailer, which was released in partnership with Vevo, depicts a comedic skit in which Amine portrays a car salesman named Thaddeus. “Do you wish you could tip on 4-4s, have an ice cream paint job, or roll with your n***as in a red Mercedes? At Quincy’s Auto Group, we have the vehicle of your dreams,” Aminé says, sporting a suit and tie. The vintage-style clip cuts to a number of used cars before turning the lens over to Aminé’s other friendly coworkers. “These deals are brazy, brazy, brazy, and will last for a limited time only,” he concludes.
The new video preview is reportedly a part of Vevo’s LIFT program, which seeks to “elevate emerging musicians into household names.” The entertainment platform previously announced that Aminé would be joining up-and-comer, Khalid as a part of LIFT’s 2017 class. Previous artists have included Tori Kelly, Alessia Cara and Kendrick Lamar.
Aminé’s “Red Mercedes” video will premiere on Apr. 7. In the meantime, catch the teaser here.
