Tuesday evening’s (April 5) moving tribute to Phife Dawg of A Tribe Called Quest brought out the industry’s most celebrated and seasoned artists, but did it inspire a new project from Andre 3000? Chris Rock seems to think so.
On Thursday (April 8), Rock ever so slightly mentioned Andre 3000 was working on a new album. The other players in the celeb-filled ‘usie’ included funnyman Dave Chappelle, DJ D-Nice, Jarobi White, Jack White and a gleaming Three Stacks.
But is it all just fun and jokes? The photo was picked up from Jarobi who brilliantly documented D-Nice’s photos of time spent with D’Angelo and the rest of the fellas at Q-Tip’s home.
The guys also enjoyed some good cooking with White and watched the classic Beat Street film with a few other guests like Queen Latifah.
So what comes next? Andre hasn’t released new music since his Grammy-winning opus The Love Below. With the exception of his gentle “30 Hours” collab with Kanye West, we haven’t heard much music from the rapper. We can only hope this is Rock’s way of trolling fans or letting the world in on a big secret.
