Alessia Cara, Erykah Badu, and many more have all placed their spin on Drake’s ode to late night romps in the hay with a good girl gone bad. But on Wednesday (November 11) soul singer Anthony Hamilton and the Hamiltones put their own spin on the hip-hop record and to say it’s delightfully different is an understatement.
Hamilton released the video via his Facebook page. In the nearly three minute clip, Hamilton and his fleet of singers are seen backstage ironing shirts and getting ready for a show when they burst into chorus.
And while other artists kept the R&B undertone of Aubrey’s record, the Hamiltones brought a heavy serving of soul, backwoods blues and just enough gospel to keep all church fans waving.
Now before you judge, press play. It’s actually really dope.
