Last night (Jan. 18), A$AP Rocky and the Mob, and others celebrated the one year death anniversary of A$AP Yams, who died at the of age 26 in 2015.
Fellow artists such as Bodega Bamz, A-trak, Flatbush Zombies, Retch, Da$H, Pro era, French Montana and more packed out Manhattan’s Terminal Five for a tribute concert to celebrate the innovative, and distinguished A$AP Yams.
Other than witnessing a bevy of heavyweight rhyme slingers grace the stage and roll through some classics, the most memorable part of the night was when Yams’ mother graced the stage to thank fans for showing love to her son.
“And remember to always strive and prosper,” Momma Yams said to an earsplitting applause right before she went into her dab providing the perfect comical and loving moment.
If there was one thing to take away from the #YamsDay tribute show, it’s to believe in and trust your own voice. Or in Yams words: provide your own wave. Because had not Yams and the Mob believed in their distingusied style, the world wouldn’t know A$AP Rocky and the Mob.
