A$AP Rocky is seeking to continue A$AP Yams’ legacy in the music industry. The Harlemite revealed to MTV that he’s planning to finish and release a new project titled Cozy Tapes that was created by his late A$AP Mob brother.
“I was mostly working on my album A.L.L.A. while he was curating and organizing who he wanted for the [Cozy Tapes], so he put it all in his notebook that I carry around with me every day,” the “Canal St.” rapper said. “I’ve got all of his thoughts and I just plan to execute what he started.”
The pair worked on the aforementioned compilation before Yams’ untimely passing following an accidental drug overdose in January.
In an earlier sit-down with VIBE, A$AP Ant spoke about the lasting impact A$AP Yams left on the crew. “Before Yams had passed, he left us the blueprints of how [A$AP Mob] should be. He left the blueprints for us, now it’s up to us to live them out,” Ant said. “Yams’ mother had a dream [where] Yams had said, ‘Tell [A$AP Lou] to look at something.’ And that was the blueprints right there.”
