The BET Awards are “bogus,” according to Azealia Banks.
After receiving a nomination at this year’s award show for Best Female Hip-Hop Artist, the outspoken rapstress did what she does best by taking to Twitter. Expressing her discontent with Nicki Minaj’s five-year winning streak, Banks opted for a new way to present in the category: just nominate the Young Money first lady five times. Calling the award “a bit of a running joke,” Banks halted her mini-rant with an acknowledgment to Nicki’s fans – as in, running them over with an imaginary car.
Banks ended her series of tweets by blasting “black media,” writing that her words would be interpreted as “throwing shots.” Read what she had to say below:
