What may come as even less of a shock than America proving racism still exists in 2016, would be Azealia Banks not being able to make up her mind (ever). After announcing she would not be endorsing Donald Trump back October 2016, the rapper has now posted to Facebook congratulating the Republican on winning the presidential election.
“TRUMP BEAT THE MEDIA. THIS IS DEEPER THAN POLITICS,” Azealia wrote on Facebook following the election results. “HE BEAT THE F**KING MEDIA. HE IS MY F**KING HERO RIGHT NOW.I AM ELATED.”
In the “Big Big Beat” rapper’s message, she also criticized Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton and her supporters. “America deserves a WAAAAAAAY better first female president then trash ass Hilary,” she wrote. “Now that the cow has lost for the SECOND time, let’s set her back out to pasture… All these celebrities thought their dry ass celebrity power was gonna sway the people but this is just proof of how stupid the American people are NOT.”
Azealia’s celebratory post comes oddly after the rapper publicly withdrew her endorsement for Trump weeks before, saying she had made a “major mistake” and that “women’s rights are important.” Tuesday (Nov. 8), Trump was elected to the 45th president of the United States. He will be be sworn into office in January 2017. We”l be looking out to see whether Azealia’s opinion changes by then.
