Katy Perry celebrated the billionth view of her song “Dark Horse” on Twitter Tuesday night (June 9), but Harlem rapper, Azealia Banks, rained on her parade.
The pop star took to her timeline to thank her fans for the positive response to her 2013 single, which features Juicy J. However, it was not her use of text talk and numerous emojis that had the Broke with Expensive Taste lyricist upset. Perry ended her tweet with, “heads back to the trap house,” causing Banks to question whether the global star knew the meaning of the words herself and clicked “Reply to Tweet.”

Perry has yet to respond to Banks, unlike several notable figures who have gone head-to-head with her online from Jim Jones to Lily Allen.
Banks later clarified that she does not intend to start a feud between her and Perry, adding, “Not everything is a ‘slam’ or a ‘bash’ lol … I’m allowed to side-eye sometime YA know. Doesn’t mean I’m angry or starting ‘beef.’”
