Cardi B hit the stage at the 2018 BET Hip-Hop Awards for a night to remember. The rapper performed two singles during her set, which aired on Tuesday night (Oct. 16).
The Bronx native began with an edgy rendition of her track “Get Up 10,” which is the first single off her debut album, Invasion of Privacy. During the performance, she synchronized moves with her back-up dancers in matching camouflage outfits.
She later transitioned to her newest single “Backin’ It Up,” where she was joined by collaborator Pardison Fontaine. During that portion of the show, Cardi stripped the skirt element of her ensemble and twerked on the floor in front of her screaming fans.
Ahead of the awards show, Pardison spoke with Billboard about working wit Cardi B on their new song. “Me and [Cardi], we work together all the time,” he said. “Through those collaborations, I heard this amazing beat… I recognized that this could be something that ladies really relate to and dig into, who else than to get the boss lady herself? Had to reach out, [Cardi] loved it, she was pregnant at the time.”
