The fight for social justice and equality is not over.
Famous entertainers, actors, comedians, and musicians created a powerful campaign video that will move the streets to take action. “23 Ways You Could Be Killed If You Are In Black America,” speaks candidly about the repetitive cases of senseless killings that have occurred in the United States.
Capturing the video in black and white helped set the mood and tone of the story portrayed, as celebrities stood up and spoke out about meaningless acts of violence that could’ve been avoided.
“Failing to signal a lane change,” “Selling cigarettes outside of your corner store,” “Walking home with a friend,” “Wearing a hoodie,” celebrities stated.
Taraji P. Henson choked up as she made her PSA on Alton Sterling’s recent fatal shooting by police officers. “Selling CD’s, outside of a supermarket.”
“In other words, just for being black and doing absolutely nothing,” Maxwell added.
Alicia Keys is on a mission to address the several issues going on around us with hopes of working with the people to bring forth change. Her ‘We Are Here’ movement is set up to cultivate the America we dream of.

Keys concludes the video with a PSA, telling viewers to “go to weareheremovement.com and tell President Obama and Congress that the time for change is now. We demand radical transformation, to heal the long history of systemic racism so that all Americans have the equal right to live and pursue happiness.”
