As I’m sure you’re all aware today is Beyonce’s 33rd birthday and for someone who’s been living just as long as Jesus, she sho’ nuff has put in that work!
When I woke up this morning, it felt wrong to do anything else other than dive head first into Queen Bey’s extensive musical catalogue or watch all her videos and then I got to thinking. With all that Beyonce has done and contributed to music, fashion and entertainment, why isn’t Sept. 4th a national holiday? If anyone deserves a national of recognition, it’s definitely Bey. For those who disagree (and I don’t know why you would) here are seven reasons why Sept. 4 should officially be deemed Bey Day.
1-She’s More Than An Entertainer
I’m not sure when it happened, or during what album, but Beyonce catapulted from just being a superstar a long time ago. Mrs. Knowles-Carter is an inspiration because she’s worked tirelessly to get to where she is and for that she deserves your respect.
2-You Will Always Do The “Single Ladies” Dance…Always!
I don’t care if its the year 3097, when the DJ starts playing “Single Ladies” you and your girls will gather in a circle and do your best version of the choreography. The “Single Ladies” dance bring girls together. It’s a time for womanhood, fun, lots of laughs and it makes women feel sexy. How can any of that not be a good thing?
3-Her Work Ethic Is Crazy
I sometimes think Beyonce is secretly a Jamaican with her TREE jobs, and if we’re being honest, Bey wears many many hats. She’s proven that nothing can replace hard work and if you’re willing to do the work, than you too can achieve your own greatness.
4-She’s A Feminist
Spare me the think pieces on why Beyonce isn’t a good role model for feminism. Beyonce is the biggest and arguable one of the most successful entertainers in the world. As a woman to proudly go on record and tell the world that she’s in total support of equality and women’s rights is not only huge but admirable. It also helps spread the importance of feminism to people who may not know what it means. Educating the masses is just another job Beyonce does flawlessly.
5-She’s Proof You Can Have It All
She’s got the career. The successful husband. The adorable baby girl. The awesome clothes. A supportive family, an awesome-sauce little sister and adoring fans. While I’m sure Bey’s life get hectic, crazy and demanding, at the end of the day on top of all the accolades, she still has what really counts: Family.
6-The Beyhive Will Come For Your Life
Don’t you dare even fix your mouth to try and say anything negative about Beyonce, because honey chile if you do! Hide your wife. Hide your kids. Just run, because all fifty-leben of ’em will find you and hunt you down. Disrespecting Beyonce WILL NOT be tolerated.
7- Beyonce Is A Down To Earth Lady
Despite all the awards, all the trophies, and all the accolades, Beyonce is just a down-to-earth girl from Texas who just happens to be Queen of the galaxy. So, remind me again, why isn’t Beyonce’s Birthday a national holiday?
