Now, both Mr. and Mrs. Carter are under the same umbrella, as Bey’s deal — described as a “global publishing agreement” — gives Warner publishing control of the pop queen’s upcoming, still-untitled solo album, plus all future songwriting credits.
In a statement, Beyoncé explained: “It’s an honor to join Warner/Chappell Music and to continue working with my friend Jon Platt. I trust his vision and admire his professionalism, and I look forward to our partnership.”
During his stint at EMI Music Publishing, Platt was responsible for bringing Beyoncé on board. On Warner/Chappell, the singer joins a roster that includes Katy Perry, Kendrick Lamar and Green Day.
Gearing up for another epic promo run, Beyoncé will next head out on her European/North American tour, The Mrs. Carter Show, on April 15.
Let Bey season commence.
