Artists across the world have made it their mission to pay tribute to the late Prince. From Rihanna in Canada to Mariah Carey in Paris, singers have either dedicated their personal melodies to The Purple One or showcased one of the revered musician’s songs in his honor.
The latter was the case for Beyonce when she debuted the instrumental version of “Purple Rain” during the kickoff to her sold out Formation tour. While in sunny Miami on Wednesday evening (Apr. 27), Queen Bey’s stacked crowd lit up their phones to the high heavens over the duration of the 1984 track.

The Lemonade singer also combined her melody “Blow” with Vanity 6’s 1982 hit “Nasty Girl.”
