Unescorted by much warning, Big K.RI.T. briefly announced he would be dropping his Thrice X EP via a short message on Twitter. Less six hours later, the extended playlist landed in our streaming laps.
Thrice X comes in with just three tracks, but in that short amount of time, the tracklist speaks volumes.
“Higher (King Pt.6)” services as a stream of consciousness between a “higher” power and the Mississipi rapper, keeping up his signature series fans will appreciate. The second track, “Glorious,” showcases the MC’s dirty South swag; the mid-tempo bop pulls a light Southern twang out of K.R.I.T. as he delivers a continual verse.
The third and final song “Look What I Got,” produced by Supah Mario, gives all the praise and glory to God. Complete with the duplicate sounds of organ pianos, the chorus is reminiscent of a high impact gospel song.
Thrice X is the artist’s latest musical officering since his critically-acclaimed 4eva Is a Mighty Long Time. The EP also highlights Big K.R.I.T.’s talent without assistance from any guest appearances or features.
Beyond refusing to outsource for bars, Big K.R.I.T. serves as the primary producer for this playlist. Stream Big K.R.I.T.’s Thrice X EP below.
