The Notorious B.I.G. may be coming back to BK.
Brooklyn-based artist Tanda Francis erected a 6-foot tall statue of the prolific rapper’s face, which was on display at the 210 Gallery in his hometown.
The Hip Hop Hall of Fame is doing its best to raise money using GoFundMe in order to get the statue bronzed and displayed in Putnam Triangle Plaza in Clinton Hill, which is close to the Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood that Biggie grew up in.
“He is considered one of the greatest MCs of all-time, who in a short period of time carried New York City hip-hop music success on his shoulders,” the GoFundMe reads.
‘This cultural arts attraction will surely be a tourist and economic draw as fans and tourists from around the world come to visit the #BIGGIEMEMORIAL,” says Chairman JT Thompson, creator of HHHOF Awards and Museum Project. As of press time, there has been just over $400 raised of their $35,000 goal.
