
While Jay Z’s Reasonable Doubt celebrated it milestone 20th anniversary this weekend, another legend’s iconic body of work was celebrated. On Friday (June 24) Marvin Gaye’s What’s Going On? turned 45.

The album was released at a time of racial tensions and political unrest and went onto become one of music’s most respected projects. In honor of this brilliant body of work, Motown decided to re-release the album featuring R&B crooner and Motown recording artist BJ The Chicago Kid. BJ’s raspy-bitten soulful vocals complemented the already beautiful song and of course, he paid homage at the end of the song stating, “I think I got it, Unc.”
BJ The Chicago Kid is currently on the “In My Mind” World Tour right now. His debut album “In My Mind” was released in February on Motown Records.
